The original game is considered one of the best survival horror games ever made critics loved it too holding around an 81 out of 100 average score The announcement was one of the most talked about reveals at Summer Game Fest 2026 and the reaction from the gaming community has been overwhelmingly positive because fans didn't want a reinvention they just wanted a modern evolution of that same terrifying formula and based on the trailer that's exactly what Creative Assembly seems to be delivering

GAME STORY: The new protagonist is named Blake a Weyland-Yutani Corporation employee The setting is a colony planet called LV-921 where a survey team discovers a crashed vessel at a location called Kurosaki Station and that's where the horror begins This time it's not just indoors players will also have to survive on the planet's open outdoor surface which is new compared to the original game 



RELEASE

There is currently no official release date the game is still in early development

  • October 2024 — first announced that a sequel was in development
  • April 2026 — teaser trailer dropped
  • June 2026 — full reveal trailer shown at Summer Game Fest No confirmed date yet but industry insiders are estimating  2027 or 2028 based on job listings and the pace of development
